In 1992, Eric Clapton published his ‘Unplugged’ album where he performed some of his best-known songs on acoustic guitar to a small audience in Windsor, England. The album itself won three Grammy awards and it became the bestselling live album worldwide – notwithstanding the fact that Clapton himself thought that the album wouldn’t sell at all. So why was this album so successful, and why didn’t Clapton think it would sell?
